People who don't drive electric are very afraid they would run out of battery and get stuck anywhere if they did go electric. Electric drivers usually are not scared, because they know it only happens very seldom, that you get stuck with an electric car in the middle of the road. Usually you make it to some electric outlet and you usually even manage to convince the owner (if you find him there) to let you charge as much as you need.

The other night on the way home from work in my fully electric peugeot 106 I stopped one village befor home because the accumulators were completely drained. I knew I wouldn't make it up the hill from the creek. It was dark and rainy and to tell you the truth, I dont't know anybody in the whole place. I rang the doorbell of a farmhouse but nobody opened. Should I plug in anyway and risk trouble when they get home? I decided to roll on to the next house and was lucky to find people there. Barbecueing in a smoker. Wow. The lady showed me to the electric outlet and invited me in.

So I was participating in the 60th birthdayparty of the farmer for 15 Minutes and one drink. It was a good laugh. For them and for me. And I made it home easily after.

This is one thing that will not happen to you with the swisscleandrive plug-in hybrid, for the gasoline engine simply kicks in when the battery is drained. You will miss the occasional incidential party. But you will make it home any time. And maybe you can drop in at the friends you made in the time you drove fully electrically anyway.
